ASTM B163 is the standard specification for seamless nickel and nickel-alloy condenser and heat exchanger tubes, including grades such as UNS N02200 (Nickel 200), UNS N02201 (Nickel 201), UNS N04400 (Monel 400), and UNS N06600 (Inconel 600). These tubes are suitable for highly corrosive and high-temperature applications in industries such as chemical processing, petrochemical, and power generation.
N02200 / N02201 (Nickel 200 / 201): High-purity nickel (≥99%), ideal for alkaline solutions, chlorinated environments, and moderate-temperature organic acids. N02201 offers higher temperature resistance, up to 435°C.
N04400 (Monel 400): Nickel-copper alloy with excellent resistance to seawater, hydrofluoric acid, and steam corrosion, making it ideal for marine condensers and petrochemical equipment.
N06600 (Inconel 600): Nickel-chromium alloy with high-temperature oxidation resistance (up to 593°C) and chloride stress corrosion resistance, widely used in nuclear steam generators and cracking furnace tubes.

ASTM B163 covers sizes up to 3 inches (76.2 mm) in outside diameter, with a minimum wall thickness of 0.148 inches (3.76 mm) and less, and an average wall thickness of 0.165 inches (4.19 mm) and less. It also defines small-diameter and thin-wall tubing (converter sizes).

SB163 400 seamless tubing specifies tubing dimensions based on outside diameter and average wall thickness, or outside diameter and minimum wall thickness. UNS N04400 nickel alloy seamless tubing offers excellent ductility and toughness, along with outstanding corrosion and high-temperature resistance.
