SS303 vs SS304 – What's the Difference?

Feature SS303 (1.4305) SS304 (1.4301)
Machinability Excellent (due to sulfur) Moderate
Corrosion Resistance Lower than 304 Higher
Weldability Poor (not recommended) Excellent
Typical Use Turned parts, fasteners, bushings Tanks, sinks, food equipment
Sulfur Content 0.15–0.35% ≤ 0.03%
