SUH409L 2B Stainless Steel Coil/Strip is an ultra-low carbon, titanium-stabilized ferritic stainless steel produced in accordance with JIS G4312 SUH409L, UNS S40903, and EN 1.4512 standards. Featuring a smooth and semi-bright 2B surface finish, it is commonly supplied in coil or slit strip form for a wide range of industrial manufacturing applications.

 

 

SUH409L 2B vs. 2D: Key Differences

SUH409L 2B Cold Rolled Stainless Steel Strip is the most common mill-finished surface condition. The production process includes cold rolling, annealing, pickling, and a final skin-pass treatment using polished rolls. This results in a smooth, uniform, grayish-white surface with a slight metallic luster, offering better reflectivity than the matte 2D finish.The surface roughness (Ra) typically ranges from 0.2 to 0.5 μm. Compared with rougher finishes, the 2B surface is easier to clean and provides improved resistance to surface contamination, making it suitable for applications requiring both functionality and a neat appearance.

 

The SUH 409L 2B stainless steel coils we supply are generally produced through the cold rolling process and are available in standard specifications with thicknesses ranging from 0.08 mm to 8.0 mm and widths from 4.6 mm to 1500 mm. Edge trimming and slit-edge processing can be customized according to customer requirements. Products are commonly supplied in annealed (soft) or half-hard temper conditions.
