1.4404 Structural Stainless Steel Plate Properties
Leave a message
1.4404 is an ultra-low carbon austenitic stainless steel in the German standard (EN), corresponding to 316L (UNS S31603) in ASTM A240/A240M in the United States and 022Cr17Ni12Mo2 in GB/T 24511 in China.

The carbon content of 1.4404 stainless steel plate is ≤0.03%. This design significantly reduces the risk of intergranular corrosion after welding, while retaining the excellent corrosion resistance brought by high chromium (16.5-18.5%), nickel (10-13%) and molybdenum (2.0-3.0%).

Advantages of 1.4404 stainless steel structural plate
No need for post-weld heat treatment: The ultra-low carbon design keeps intergranular corrosion resistance after welding, which is suitable for complex welded structures such as pressure vessels and pipelines.
Wire matching: It is recommended to use ER316L welding wire to ensure that the corrosion resistance of the weld is consistent with that of the parent material.
Chloride ion corrosion resistance: In seawater with a Cl⁻ concentration of 35,000ppm, the annual corrosion rate is less than 0.01mm, suitable for marine engineering.
Organic acid resistance: It is stable in media such as acetic acid and citric acid, and is widely used in the food and pharmaceutical industries. The short-term use temperature can reach 1050℃, and the long-term recommended temperature is ≤815℃. The high-temperature oxidation resistance is better than that of ordinary carbon steel.
